Cartier R's sire, Cassini I (Capitol I) was the winner of the 1994 Federal German show jumping championships and later caused a sensation in the international show jumping sport under Franke Sloothaak, winning, among others, the Arnheim Grand Prix, several Nations Cups as well as World Cup show jumping events.
Cassini I is the son of Capitol I, one of the greatest Holsteiner show jumping sires and father of forty approved stallions. Capitol I was richly endowed with the heritage of two great Thoroughbred descendants of the Bay Ronald line - Cottage Son xx and Manometer xx, and also carried a double cross of the influential Anglo-Arab, Ramzes. With a phenomenal breeding index of 182, he headed the FN young jumping stallion ratings. Capitol’s dam, Folia, showed great jumping potential herself, and also produced the licensed stallions Latus I and II, as well as Capitol II, and famous daughters U-Capitola (dam of Lord Capitol from Lord and Quite Capitol from Quidam de Revel) .
Cassini I has been at least as successful in breeding, with a series of offspring active in the international sport such as Ingmar, Eurocommerce Berlin, Coco, Cavalor Cumano, Carino and Olympic. Cassini I is a highly sought-after sire of performance horses throughout Europe and the entire world . His offspring are in great demand and have proven themselves many times over in the toughest competitive arena .
Damsire Acorado I, won the 1997 Adelheidsdorf stallion performance test twice receiving 10s for his exceptional jumping ability. In 1999 and 2000, he qualified and competed in the Bundeschampionat. Unfortunately, Acorado I died before meeting his full potential, but leaves behind almost 20 approved sons to continue his legacy.
Corleone, a 1.69m Holsteiner stallion by Caletto II that was bred to Fiance, a full sister to Lord, to produce Carbano's dam Borgia. Borgia was then bred to a Capitol I son, Carthago Z, to produce Carbano. This combination of Capitol I to a Calletto II mare has proven to be a very successful combination in the production of show jumpers such as Indoctro, Cassini, Carthago Z, Cento, Corrado to name a few.
Cartier R's pedigree is a virtual "who's who" of Holsteiner breeding. These bloodlines have combined to produce an attractive, modern stallion with exceptional movement and enormous scope. As a two-year old he earned his preliminary breeding license from the German Oldenburg Verband impressing the judges with his type, scope and willingness to work.
