Coktail
1971 Trakehner

Coktail In 1971 Coktail was Champion Colt of the State Schleswig-Holstein.  He passed the Central Stallion Selection Test in 1973 in Neumunster/Holstein and subsequently passed the Stallion Performance Test in 1974 in Westercelle/Hanover.   Coktail was Primary Stallion of the Trakehner Association from 1974 to 1978.  As Primary Stallion, Coktail served about 50 mares per year.  Due to his very busy and successful stud career, Coktail was not competed in sport, but was used as a school horse for dressage lessons, for trail riding and just as a family horse with children and adults riding him without saddle and bridle and vaulting on him.

Coktail sired GISELLE, PARANA, SARMATIA and PERU II, all dams of approved stallions, GUMMIBAER, PANDUR, APH SOCRATES and the Olympic Bronze medalist and highest placed American horse, PERON.  He also sired the Verband approved stallion DOMHARDT (Australian Advanced dressage Champion) who was subsequently sold to Singapore.

Coktail's dam CORVINA, by the noted BORIS, was the dam of two other approved stallions, CORVIN and CORNELIUS, sire of ATA approved stallions KOREE and KENNER. Corvina was from the dam line of CORRIDA which counts many dressage and jumping stars such as CORNA (German Ridinghorse Grand Champion and Grand Prix dressage stars), CONSUL, as well as Olympic show jumping stallion ALMOX PRINTS J and many others. Coktail’s sire, HABICHT is one of the most famous producers of riding horses in the Trakehner breed and was shortlisted for the German eventing team. Habicht also has many approved sons and daughters.
